A real Good Friday

We were lazing around in the bedroom playing with Zoë enjoying our day off when she heard jingling bells outside and ran to the window asking to be lifted up to see what it was. Looking out of the window, we saw it was the Morris Men striding into the village.

Zoë first saw the Morris Men when she was around 10mths old when the 'Rushcart' is pulled through the Saddleworth villages by Morris Men from all over the country. So we all got dressed quickly and went out to the village square to see them dance to the accordion and drums. She loved it. Within seconds she was dancing on a table outside the Swan pub to the Morris Men's music. They were all really impressed that she'd enjoyed it so much and gave her some flowers before they left to continue their tour of the Saddleworth villages - and pubs.

After the dancing we drove up to 'the Whitehouse' just on the edge of the moors above Slaithwaite and had a lovely lunch. Zoë somehow managed to polish off 2 apple and melon J2O's - and a fair share of our lunches!

After lunch we went for a walk by the river in Delph so that Zoë could splash in any puddles she encountered and feed the ducks- it was a beautiful day well spent.

I have been reading some of your entries and things. You might want to read my latest post for parents that are parenting in the United States, London, England, and other places. It might give you some insight into your wife's feelings regarding raising a child with our philosophy verses her own customs.
